Welcome to Novo Counselling Albury Wodonga

Novo Counselling is found in the beautiful Albury Wodonga region of North East Victoria. I love our community. So, I’m passionate about offering professional, caring mental health support to locals and those outside of our local region as well.

Who do I work with?

I work with women and couples. More specifically, I work with those who want to find freedom from painful emotional cycles and negative coping strategies that have developed through life.

Why?

I am passionate about helping individuals improve their emotional and mental health and wellbeing. In order to achieve this these are some common goals in therapy:

Increased self-awareness

Identifying source of emotional pain

Learning how to manage Triggers

Increasing tools and strategies in mental/emotional toolkit

Experiencing greater emotional freedom

How do I help?

Firstly, by helping clients identify the source of their emotional pain. And of course, the triggers that keep their pain alive.

To achieve this I support clients to find new ways to navigate their triggers, thought life and behavior. All of which are an important part of this process.

Because our past and present can produce some big emotions, our mental health and wellbeing can be impacted enormously. As a result, we may try dealing with it ourselves, or try forgetting about it. Maybe even pretend there’s no issue at all. Consequently, we become emotionally ‘stuck’.

Importantly, when we choose to acknowledge our pain and go deeper, we begin to get ‘unstuck’. So, it’s from this place we can find ways to move forward.

Professional counselling supports clients to achieve increased mental and emotional wellbeing. Greater inner-healing, and improved quality of life are by-products of this process.

I believe that there is not just one therapy-mode that works for everything. Consequently, I use a range of evidence and research-based techniques. These include CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Insight Therapy and Psychotherapy. Included are some modern therapies which have been proven to help achieve these results.

Further to this, grief work is an integral part of the healing process.

About Novo Counselling

[/ultimate_heading]

Hi! I’m Glenda O’Neill, founder of Novo Counselling Albury Wodonga.

I am passionate about helping women live an ‘abundant life’.  By ‘abundant’ I mean living free from the impact of the emotional baggage we carry from our past.  It’s also anything else keeping us stuck and unable to move forward. The goal is to bring emotional healing, empowerment and freedom.

Coupled with over 10 years of experience as a therapist to individuals and families, I have spent 23 years in education as a teacher. My experience ranges from working with young people through to those in their senior years.

In addition, I offer online counselling (and mental health education courses) where distance and time may be a limiting factor.
